I've been producing for a while now and one thing that was evident early on in my career is Marketing is a key factor. My journey in Marketing started with Facebook and Soundclick I spent my time making posts, sharing my beats, and networking on social media. Marketing your music for free online can get you very far but after some time I wanted to reach more people. Wanting to reach more people requires Money. I wasn't a stranger to spending money on my career but what I learned quickly is everyone that you spend money with isn't created equal. Now. what does that mean? Basically, I've been scammed, my time has been wasted and I've been misinformed many times trying to work with people until I had an understanding of myself as a Producer and what I wanted out of the Marketing investment. There's a story that I'll be sharing in my next blog about Me and Fayro getting scammed shortly after we began working together. But, my point is there is no getting around spending money to promote yourself but when you know what it is you need, understand what's being offered, and can be confident in if you need to spend money or not on what's being sold to you you will save a lot of money on Marketing.
